1985

EMS (originally known as Electronic Memory Systems) started as a family business in 1985 and was in the business of making memory boards for mainframe computers. Unfortunately memory boards became obselete very quickily and the company then decided to go into cabling (only RS232 cabling as there was no ethernet yet).

1990

Seeing that cabling requires much more capital?, the company then decided to be incorporated as a private limited company in 1990.

1999

In 1999, EMS was acquired by then Datacraft Asia Ltd (a company listed on SGX as well as NASDAQ).

2003

However in 2003 there was a Management Buy Out and the company was taken private.

TODAY

Since going private the company has positioned itself in the business of Making Buildings Intelligent.
